About Debra Valencia

Debra Valencia wears many hats as creative director, designer, licensing consultant, educator, speaker and author.
 
Debra worked most notably for creative firm Sussman/Prejza & Co. from 1981 to 1996, where she designed and managed large scale environmental graphics, signage, branding and printed collateral projects. She was the youngest member of the graphic design team in tandem with lead architects, The Jerde Partnership. Debra personally designed the Olympic Style Guide used by the architects, sponsors and vendors.
 
Later, Debra served as VP of creative services at a multimedia publisher and two internet companies overseeing teams of designers, editors, programmers and technical experts. In 2001, she started her own agency specializing strategic marketing plans, branding, style guides, collateral, digital campaigns, websites and licensing IP.
 
Debra has lectured at national design conferences, universities and professional groups. As an educator, she teaches courses on design and business practices at multiple colleges. She graduated with a BFA with Honors, Dean’s List, and Faculty Award for Most Outstanding Student from the University of Arts in Philadelphia.
