Field Trip 2: Museums, Stores & More
For our second field trip, we went to the Craft Museum where Bryan explained the history and evolution of the various crafts which included from kimonos, books, stencils, ceramics, screens and more. The museum gift shop was fantastic with an array of arts & crafts books as well as handmade papers and more. We also shopped at a vintage textile store where I bought a remnant of fabric for my drawstring bag lining and also a 103 year old indigo jacket. We visited an art supply store specializing in all the materials needed for doing the indigo dying at home so many of us purchased cloth, stencil paper, books and indigo crystals.
