Food & Socializing: A fun aspect of the overall workshop
The food was wonderful, healthy and delicious. I honestly did not have a bad meal and I think everyone else agreed. Mostly homemade and prepared by Hiro, we had a range of foods including salmon with rice, mushroom soup, chicken with vegetables, soba noodles, fresh salads and fruits. There were always plenty of snacks and beverages on hand. Breakfasts were more casual and Westernized with a buffet of yogurt, breads, cheeses and fruits and sometimes eggs or pancakes. We had time to socialize as we ate our meals together and spread out to different parts of the farmhouse and grounds to work on our projects. The house pets are two rescue dogs named Mu Mu and Geiger. Sometimes friends and neighbors dropped by such as Mixer, a fashion designer who worked in New York for 20 years and also for famed Japanese designer Issey Miyake. Everyday was interesting, filled with surprises with never a dull moment.
